Sedation Dentistry
How does it work?
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Nitrous Oxide is one of the safest methods of sedation available in dentistry to deal with dental anxiety and discomfort. It can be used with adults as well as children. It has a calming and comforting effect while allowing you to be in total control and awake through the procedures. Thus, you will be able to communicate well with us throughout the treatment. Laughing Gas can aid in the adjustment of time perception to as if time passes more quickly.
IV (intravenous) Sedation
With IV Sedation, you would be relaxed and have little or no memory of the experience. Our dentists, in the presence of a registered nurse, monitor vital signs carefully using an electronic monitoring device to ensure patient safety.
General Anesthesia (Sleep Dentistry) NEW*
Sleep dentistry is a deep state of sedation where you will be “asleep” throughout the dental procedure. You will not remember the treatment process or experience discomfort while in this state. Dr. Grant Lu, our in-house Medical Anesthesiologist, will be onsite administering the general anesthesia medication. To ensure your safety Dr. Grant and the supporting team will remain with you throughout the procedure until it is time to wake up.
